The main objectives of our project are to:

  1. Document the distributions of trace metals in the North Atlantic and how they vary on and off the Mid-Atlantic Ridge;
  2. Examine the mechanisms driving the magnitude of hydrothermal trace metal plumes at different hydrothermal sites along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

To deliver this we will conduct a 6 week research expedition to the Atlantic Ocean to measure trace metals, nutrients and ocean physics over and around the mid Atlantic ridge.
